Just returned from a quick trip to Toronto,
These images are from the hotel room in late afternoon
the traffic was almost black and white...
Inspired by my friend Maja.

Late Blooms

Three late summer blooms
from flowers that have bloomed all summer.
Their last gasp....

"Tis the last rose of summer,
                               left blooming alone;
All her lovely companions are faded and gone.

Fog and Architecture

These images are a reason you always need a camera
I carry a point in shoot on my belt at all times, because
you never know when that image will appear!
On my way to work this morning
I found this Salt box house shrouded in fog.
I had to have it!!
You may have seen this house before (Faux Vintage)
that was my trusty point and shoot!
"Early morning in the field" under the photoshopped label
the same!
You don't need fancy camera's to take interesting images
you just need a camera and the ability to see the image before you shoot!
because you never know....

Black with a Smack...is back!

Its been a while since I've produced such images.
So after searching my archives for some likely suspects
I spent a quiet hour with a paint bucket and brush
Here you see my results.

Red Sky in the Morning

This is the sky that greeted me at work at 6am this morning
"Red sky at night, sailors delight.
red sky in the morning, sailors warning

This old adage is backed up by some heavyweights

Shakespeare in his play Venus and Adonis

"like the red morn that ever yet betokened, Wreck
to the seamen, tempest to the field, sorrow to the shepherds,
woe unto the birds, gusts and fowl flaws to herdmen  and to herds"

The Bible ( Matthew XVI: 2-3)

"When in the evening, ye say, it will be fair weather; For the sky is red
and in the morning, it will be foul weather today; for the sky is red and
                                                           lowering."
Science says that there is some truth to this as well, however it
                                                makes for a boring read

Easter's Birds

Beautiful and Deadly

Datura belongs to the classic "witches' weeds" along with deadly Nightshade,
Henbane, and Mandrake. Most parts of the plant contain toxic hallucinogens,
and Datura has a long history of use for causing delirious states and death.
It is well known as an essential ingredient  of love potions and witches' brews

Nobody in the boat
Nobody on the beach
I feel it in the air

The summers out of reach
Empty lake, empty beach
The sun goes down alone!

The Forecast Calls for Rain!

Coffee for my breakfast
Shot of whiskey on the side
It's a dark a dreary morning
With the clouds covering up the sky
The forecast calls for rain!
