A Real Water Colour

This image was shot through a screen window
laden with water from a sprinkler.
With the focus on the screen, gave
the garden , surrounded by a split rail fence, and full of
Black Eyed Susan a very painted look.
much like Monet?
minor adjustments to contrast and saturation only.

Life in a Vase

Rescued from nature
Where I once held my head high.
To be protected and coddled is a  life not so fine,
handled and hobbled and robbed of my time
My last days I will model the colourful shine,
I will miss what could have been a life so mine.
~JE Ted Gardner

Not a big fan of cut flowers...much prefer them in the garden!

There's a Fly in the Oinment

Not sure he spoils the image
and not sure he makes it!
Just wanted a pic of my Orange Cactus Zinnia
and this is the best!

King Bee

He's a King Bee Baby, buzzin' around your hive

Honey Bee on Helenium
also known as Sneeze weed
The plant dried for making snuff, when inhaled
produced a sneeze
that rid the body of evil spirits

Canine Loyalty

Likely Canada's most photogenic canine
Bogie!
He loves the camera , but I'm sure he loves his Mum more!
That Mum is an old friend and fellow photog Tina.
I have a special appreciation for Bogie as we have
the same chin whiskers...Har!

Fledgling Locks

An image from one of my favorite human subjects.

A few locks of hair from a child so
fair,
A miracle from above placed
gently in our care.
This child is growing up so fast.
Tomorrow is the future, today is
the past,
Walking ...talking ...fading riddles
and rhymes,
These locks of hair remain a
keepsake of past times.

~unknown...with some changes by me.

Silenced

The night was steel grey and bitter cold as I sat alone in my car,
dreading what I had to do. Then she appeared, a true minx
all wrapped in fur, the one Dame who could make things go so wrong.
She stepped into the street, I sucked in a deep breath
and put the car in gear...

Burst of Colour

Those of us in the western hemisphere

Clear Wing

I have posted a few of this fellow before
A Clear Wing Sphinx Moth
better know as a Hummingbird Moth
He fools most as being the bird that we all know and love
The plant that he is taking nectar from is Butterfly Weed
a member of the Milk weed family, the Monarch Butterfly's favorite.
