Winters Last Breath

Only a week ago it was 25 Celsius, sunny  

and felt more like summer than spring.

Then winter raised it head for one last gasp yesterday!

March 21st the 1st day of spring.

These images are of Lake Rosseau and the fog from the remaining ice

on a very warm day and very early in the year.

Since we have had a cold snap which wiped out

allot of spring flowers that were fooled into the belief

that winter was done.

Our Barred Owl (aka Bob) returned last night

As I'm sure he has many a night.

To apply his stealth hunt in our yard, so quiet a patient.

My flash only shortly disturbed his concentration

we always know when he is successful

as he leaves wing prints n the snow with just a hint of blood.

A trip this past weekend to visit my brother and family.

Outside Ottawa was the scene and hundreds of family shots!

However I found interest on each visit to the front yard..
