A Storm in Your Future
Like winter, there is a storm in our future.
Hard to believe that in a month or so this beautiful colored water
will be dark blue and grey and about 2 feet of frozen ice!
Brrrr!

Whats to come...
So dark and grey, so very stark
to see the beauty look past whats not
for its in the dark of white and sparse
that nature shines, to live or not
spring will come no matter what
so enjoy this scene, because in winter
its all or not...

Mallard Brood in motion...
This image was captured early morning in July on Lake Muskoka.
The camera was handheld with low light and a slow shutter speed.
I was looking for motion. I think i got lucky as the colours were rich around the scene.
A crop job and simple adjustments in light, shadow, and contrast gave me this!!
It has a painted effect without any major edits
I offer the original for your suspicions.

Winter's Garden at Night
Winter is knocking at our door!
We expect up to 30 centimeters by tomorrow
and winter's true arrival is not til December 21st.
These shots were all taken this evening after dinner
The Black Eyed Susan's are like little cupcakes
Hope to give you some shots in daylight tomorrow.

The Maple Leaf Forever
Bruised battered and torn
The Maple Leaf shall live on!
In honor of our veterans and all who
sacrificed for freedom.
Lest we forget!

Cyanocitta cristata
The Blue Jay
Loud and boisterous and a bit of a glutton.
But when winter comes with its white and gray
his colour brightens our day
He's a bully and so full of himself
but we are so happy to have him
when snow is all that is left on February's shelf
Then spring will appear and he will become
second choice until that coming winter
when you love the sound of his voice

November's Sunset
November's Sunset lasts for one fleeting moment
Look down for just a bit and it slips into the past
And all you can do is Remember
Lest we forget...

Until The End...
Until the end my friend, until the end....
Like the champions they are, my Rudbeckia
(Black eyed Susans) kept on blooming
until November said no more!
such is life, may it not fade away...
