Zenaida macroura

This mom Mourning Dove was on her nest just 3 feet
above our heads as we sat on a friends small deck.
She found last summers hanging pot and laid 2 eggs.
As long as you were not aggressive she would not move!
In image 3 you get a look at her kids....really interesting!

Feeling like Icarus

Images from a Jet aircraft
If you have ever done this every image is a rainbow because of the glass
in the jet...so to compensate...a wee bit of photoshop work has been done.
These were taken on my recent trip to Florida
And like Icarus I feel like I'm getting to close to the sun!

Cheer Leaders

A quiet day in Florida by the pool became a real show!
This group of youngsters were from a high school cheer leading team
who had been competing at the national championships.
After several spectacular moves I asked their coach if they could show me something interesting?
He said "sure" and he set his team up to do a "Triple Basket"
which are image 2 thru 5
after that they pulled of a Pyramid!
all in all a fun and not quiet day at the pool!!

Mothers Day

"A mother is a person who seeing
there are only 3 pieces of pie for 4 people,
promptly announces that she never did care
for pie"
for my Mumzie
There is no greater love in this world.

A Trillium in Three

The Trillium Ontario's Provincial flower since 1937
At this time of year they are just set to bloom
a native flower that blooms in woodland areas.
Called Trillium because of their 3 petals and 3 leaves
for this I give you 3 edited versions..and a poem

Where The Trillium Grows

I love the spot where the Trillium peeks,
Deep in the wood along side the creek,
My favorite place in early spring,
Where the Trillium grows, inspiring

Where the Trillium grows, my soul refreshes,
Reminiscent of simple pleasures,
uncomplicated, yet so exquisite,
She speaks to me on every visit.

Demure and delicate, unassuming grow,
A humble persistence, and hardiness though,
Well mannered and sweet, is the Trillium flower,
Modestly pretty, hour to hour.

An honor to walk where the Trillium grows,
Three white flowers right after snow,
How she survives crashing trees and wind,
I never tire of the Trillium trend.

My Trillium friend, not to deceive,
Returns each spring by the creek in the trees,
There'll come a day, when I won't be there,
Will she know I'm gone as she lingers fair?

The Call of The Loon

I saw my 1st Loon of spring today!
He was driving a Mercedes ...just kidding!
It was  North American Common Loon.
And is probably one of the most iconic symbols of  Canada
If you never been on a lake at night and heard his call,
you are missing something in your life!
These images are a few years old of a mother and youngster.
If you wish I'm posting a link so you can hear what I mean.

April Sky

"The sun was warm but the wind
was chill.
You know how it is with an April
day.
When the sun is out and the wind
is still,
You're one month on in the
middle of May.
But if you so much as dare to
speak,
a cloud come over the sunlit
arch,
And wind comes off a frozen
peak,
And you're two months back in
the middle of March."

~ Robert Frost
