Maple Syrup

A great Canadian tradition
the boiling of Maple tree sap
in the spring to make
Maple syrup!
Its not a pancake without.
This is my neighbors sugar shack,
he tapped his trees and ours
boiled and we have the liquid gold!

The fuel to boil.

The sap to boil and boil!

April Morning Atmosphere

 5 AM
Everything is still
fog rises off the snow that remains
April warmth
quiet comfort so serene
a view down the street
gives me  silent comfort
I begin to dream
until awakened by a call
Spring!

Green on Green

                                                                         Green head male Mallard
on the aptly named Green River

Bohemian Waxwing

Bombycilla garrulus

I really happy with these shots.
Not because they are great sharp  shots, because they are not.
I happy because these were shot with my new gear
at an extreme distance!
My Canon 7D Mark II with the Canon 100-400 IS II Usm
lens have opened up a whole new world of possibilities!
Stay tuned! Spring is afoot!

Canada Geese

She's always in my ear!!

The Picture Within....

Early evening sun shined on a picture hanging in our stairway.
The light changed the image in my eye
I was caught...so I now shoot the picture within the picture.
Shot on an angle to catch the light.
Much thanks to Phil Rimmer for an image on our wall we have loved
just a different look?

Snow Bunting

Winters Bird
He will fly north soon
as Spring is on his heels.
He has brightened many a cold day,
and he will return
but another season away
