A Longing

A Longing
to be in our garden again.
Rich smell of earth
and a fight to keep fingernails clean
Fresh Garden greens
Colour as far as the eye can see
Our yard so full of life...
Alas its the middle of a long winter
Snow banks cover what's to come
patience is the word.

Lost & Found

If you have lost a pair
of glasses
They now reside in an alder tree
beside the hiking path
at the Wilson Falls trail
east side of the dam

Fire & Ice 2017

A winter festival
that includes making a large
part of our main street
a toboggan run .

another title here
could have been
"That's enough, I'm done!"

"That's it!, I'm out of here"

Winter Plumage

American Goldfinch

In winter plumage
gone are the males bright yellow jacket
with little black cap
Now they dress like the ladies
Still there is much beauty in those winter coats

Winter Wind

Cold
Quiet
Just the mournful call
of the winter wind
A wind not felt
A wind only heard
Like a hum in your head
A desolate composition
Played over and over
Again

Up the Creek

A quiet stroll
Up the Creek
water so slow it makes no sound
Birds bring the woods to life
soft warm sunlight spark the colours
in my mind
A place so tranquil...
I may never leave
