Haliaeetus leucocephalus

Recently an afternoon spent at a landfill near Parry Sound Ontario gave me these images of a Bald Eagle.
It was an overcast day with regular flurries and very poor light, but what mattered most was the sight of these magnificent predators. At last count we were pretty sure there were nine eagles in the general vicinity !

With much thanks to my Pop, the real photographer

                                    He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
                                           close to the sun in lonely lands,
                                     Ringed with the azure world, he stands.

                                     The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
                                       He watches from his mountain walls,
                                            and like a thunder bird he falls.
